The SCORE Seminar "How to Start and Manage Your Own Business" is given often throughout the year. Topics covered in this all-inclusive seminar include:

  • Learn how to write a professional business plan
  • Learn how to develop a winning marketing strategy
  • Learn the importance of your company's legal structure
  • Learn what you need to know about licenses, insurance and taxes
  • Learn how technology can make your business more profitable
  • Learn to understand income statements, balance sheets and manage cash flow.
  • Learn how to get the best business loans

Time: 8:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

SCORE advisors in St. Louis share their years of business experience in this information packed session. The session includes a comprehensive take-home packet of materials, information regarding useful websites, and the option for one-on-one no-cost counseling.

SCORE Workshops are offered as a series of half-day sessions covering topics of interest to business owners. Included are presentations by SCORE counselors whose expertise lies in the subject topic, as well as presentations by community experts in the field. Interactive learning sessions are structured to examine problems and solutions of specific interest to attendees.
